Parent Bulletin
November 24, 1999

Dear Parents,

I want to thank our PTSA for an excellent Family Heritage month which gave us a tremendous Family Fun night last Friday. I also want to thank teachers and students for their excellent contributions to the month long celebration.

My gratitude also goes out to the Arbor Heights staff for their efforts during conferences. Their dedication and patience in explaining the new Standards as they relate to the report card was very much appreciated. Thanks also go to parents for their preparation and attentiveness as the new grading criteria is being implemented.

The Science Van from the Pacific Science Center will be here on December 1st. Any parents who can assist us on that day would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Lori Boyer or a classroom teacher if you can help out.

The past week and a half we have had early dismissals for conferences, and today a one hour early dismissal. I was very concerned about the number of students who were unsupervised on the playground while waiting to be picked up. Students who are asked to wait on the playground for rides should be instructed to go to the front hallway lounge if they are not picked up right away.

Finally, I want to wish everyone an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday. This always helps me take some time to appreciate so many of the good things I take for granted so often.

Sincerely,
Barry S. Dorsey
Principal
