Veteran's Day - November 11th
The Seattle Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran's Day. Our school will hold a Veteran's Day assembly on Friday, November 7th, at 11:10 a.m. The band and choir from Chief Sealth High School will be here to share some patriotic music with our students. Please join us if you can.

Space Odyssey Day
On Monday, November 10th, the Pacific Science Center will bring their Space Odyssey Van to our school. All of our students will attend an assembly at 9:15 a.m. and each class will visit an exhibit area during the course of the day. Also, all classrooms (Grades 1-5) will have a classroom lesson conducted by Pacific Science Center staff. Your child should come home that day filled with knowledge about outer space. Our PTA is making it possible for the van to visit our school.

Bon Marche' T-shirts
Today your child will bring home a beautiful T-shirt which depicts the relationship we have with the Bon Marche'. They have been a wonderful PIPE partner for us over the last few years and they support us in many ways. We are asking all of the kids to wear their T-shirts to school tomorrow.

PTSA Scrip Orders Ready For Pick-up
Please remember to pick up your scrip gift certificates after 2:30 on Friday in the front lobby. A.M. Kindergarten orders will be available at 1:00 p.m. THIS IS A WEEKLY ORDER PROGRAM! PLEASE LOOK FOR YOUR ORDER FORM EACH THURSDAY. TURN IN COMPLETED FORMS EVERY MONDAY MORNING BEFORE 11:00. Thank you. (Suzette Nedervelt 938-1543)

Lending Library
We have a Lending Library located in the foyer just inside the main entrance of our school. There are plenty of educational materials and games which you are welcome to check out. A few items are missing so if you have one or more at home please return them. We use the check out system to keep track of all the items. Thank you.

Read For Books
One component of our reading incentive plan is our Read For Books program. The students earn a free book when they fill a calendar showing that they have read at home 20 times. During the month of November and December we encourage you to read aloud to your children. Watch for a reading calendar in our next PTSA Newsletter.

Free Soccer Tickets
We have been given a number of free tickets to a University of Washington men's soccer game this weekend. The Huskies will play the University of San Francisco this Sunday, November 9th, at 2:00 p.m. If you would like some tickets, just send us a note requesting the number you need.

Sincerely,
Carl Leatherman
Principal
